Nope: perfect in all particulars, merc!

" .... " is another work in the series; this one for Viola, electronics and ensemble.

I do believe you should give us an evil I!

The answer I'm fairly sure is Invention.

Thank you for this, Cali; we went for a very short stroll around her garden early this afternoon - the first time she's been outdoors since she came home.

                    Thanks Mercia:

Book for W.F. is I think Klavierbüchlein für Wilhelm Friedemann - many of the pieces also being present in Bach's Inventions and Sinfonias
Frank's maters is I think Mothers of Invention, a US rock band backing Frank Zappa.
The really interesting one is Geirr Tveitt - various titles including 12 Two-part Inventions in Lydian, Dorian, and Phrygian, Op. 2 for piano. I have not heard of this composer before, but must see if there is any of his music available on YouTube etc.!

very good odders - everything as it appears on the answer card

someone on another board has praised Tveitt to the rooftops - so worth exploring I imagine

can we tempt you to a question ???? [I frequently duck out of question setting]

Champion thanks Cali - even better after the Owls defeated the Seagulls.

By the way - I think you should use your Hostly influence to persuade OB to set a J!

Oddball, on the few occasions I win I set the most dismal puzzles ever, but that's all part of the fun! Go for it, do not be an AA virgin conundrum setter (honestly, it does get easier after the first time!)
