Book for W.F. is I think Klavierbüchlein für Wilhelm Friedemann - many of the pieces also being present in Bach's Inventions and Sinfonias
Frank's maters is I think Mothers of Invention, a US rock band backing Frank Zappa.
The really interesting one is Geirr Tveitt - various titles including 12 Two-part Inventions in Lydian, Dorian, and Phrygian, Op. 2 for piano. I have not heard of this composer before, but must see if there is any of his music available on YouTube etc.!

Oddball, on the few occasions I win I set the most dismal puzzles ever, but that's all part of the fun! Go for it, do not be an AA virgin conundrum setter (honestly, it does get easier after the first time!)
