Cloughie, you got Cote, the honours are yours. I could do a rather hastily cobbled together D I guess but it won't be wonderful, so please do go ahead.

Yes cloughie ... I'll give you that. But a lot of things happened or were written or painted on the Côte d'Azur, it's a bit loose to my mind.

I wish Anna would leave Roger's enormous pole alone and give us a D, egg wetter gree (as Beefy would say).

Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
      Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

A bit like St Ives - the light and climate are right!

        I'll Dream something up!

A point just being made (apart from the St Ives bit) on my TV screen at the moment, in the gorgeous little series on the Riviera I'm catching up with at the moment: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b01ps9jr

I shall delete my puzzle, I rather was a bit premature, let cloughie continue with the D as he got it.

The Riviera series is lovely isn't it. But I also love Richard E. Grant!

He's just right for this programme!

But don't delete your D!! I'd just seen it! I'm sure Cloughie won't mind! Cross-posting and all that - he was hot for an Anna D!!!

EDIT: Too late!! Please put it back up!!

Oh, you know what Cali, since you have become a Host you are far more demanding than you used to be ......

I'm not sure I remember, it was so simplistic, but:

What D makes you think of a BBC Nature programme, an enthusiast of steam trains and someone you associate with beef whilst you whistle to work

                  Thank you Anna!

Btw why can't Richard E Grant pronounce 'Parisians'...? "Paree-zhuns" he says. Maybe it's his African origins... or Hollywood leanings...

Of course D and BBC nature programmes make one think of David (Attenborough) but you put a single programme, so that's wrong. And 'whistling' and 'work' makes me think Disney... but that's wrong I think.

Is the D a (musical) thing or (musical) person?

Dvorak was a steam train enthusiast, as were Honneger and Villa-Lobos.

Oh Bless You. Yes, Attenborough is a clue .... But perhaps look to Jonathan and his best friend?

Steam trains could be Dan Snow or David Shepherd, then Desperate Dan and his cow (beef) pie but did he whistle?
