My Mum referred to it more delicately - I was the 'after thought'
In other words, after she'd done it she thought, I didn't have oughta done that!

Will the witness please answer the question...!

"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
      Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

Are you talking to me? Ooh, I say ... am I to be interrogated by Billy the Barristers' Clerk or a real-life Barrister in Silk? My knees are trembling as we speak ....
The answer is, Your Honour, (curtsey) I merely thought Cloughie saying Edward would obviously lead us down the Primrose Path to Elgar and perhaps he was being sneaky and it could indeed be Edward German. Hence my query as to RVW being banned by the Nasties. No more, and no less than that. I am entirely Innocent, your Lordship, of anything I am accused of!

A very wailing among the wards of Chancery!

I would advise (not even requiring so much as a guinea in my silken purse) that you start preparing an H question!

I hesitate, Your Honour, to think of anything in your silken purse (why, the very idea could have me reaching for the sal volatile in an instant) because I have not got the answer. I am merely, how shall I put this, a Muse upon the shoulders of AAers, guiding them, a Blest Pair of Sirens, towards their goal of hitting the G spot, which could be Germanic in origin. And now, I have to go until the wee small hours...

OK so you've got Edward German - there is a link there with Henry, also who was Johannes, and you need to look to the West Country for the link with Holst and Vaughan Williams.

Edward German - Henry VIII ("Henry Irving version"), Tom Jones (Henry Fielding) ?

                  Johannes Brahms ?

have we concluded that the G word is GERMAN(Y) ?

what a lot of names to juggle with

does the Holst/RVW West Country link begin with G ?

not sure that the Henry has to have a link with the Holst/RVW West Country link

Well, there's Edward German's Glorious Devon, but this isn't a West Country area associated with RVW & Holst beginning with G.
