Mrs Flay has decreed that we go to Meadowhell this afternoon. Motorway jammed. Car park full!

"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
          Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

It is not a person - it is a location.

Barbirolli's performance of DS's 5th is a famoue 'BBC Legends' CD - is that relevant?

No but it does concern a Shost symphony.

Dean Martin sang a song called 'Houston'
John Barbirolli was Chief Conductor of the Houston Symphony in the '60s
The US première of Shostakovich's 11th was by the Houston Symphony under Stokowski...

                                So: Houston?

EDIT: if that's right, I'm in trouble as I'm out in 15 mns till the end of the evening... So: free-for-all to anyone who has an "I" in that event...
