Cloughie dear chap it is 23/12/2012 in Gould Towers and Lady Gould has "a list" - I could try breathing but I'm not sure it is allowed!!!
You do very well, both in winkling out answers, and in evading the gimlet eye of Lady G - usually I imagine by secreting yourself in the tower room in the East wing, tapping away at night when Lady G has retired, on that laptop She Doesn't Know About...
"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."
This terrible Thing called Christmas is affecting us all to the severe detriment of AA. I have Chores, Tidying, turkey to collect, the garden looks a mess, Things To Put Away, and, and.... The list is endless.
But the Alphabet will still be Associated, by hook or crook!

All ready here... (cue irritating Xmas smugness): sitting with a coffee, next the trimmed tree, presents all wrapped and underneath, fridge and larder suitably stocked, time to think before the arrival of family in a couple of hours...
The final element I think is Josquin's motet "Ave vera Virginitas"... there's yer medieval virgin for yer...
Testing stuff, Cloughie Great work by anton to get to the first two Verae...
The White Cliffs lady Vera Lynn started out Welch
Shirley Williams mum Vera Brittain wrote Tesament of yoof

Thanks Cali for squaring the circle or summat like that - interesting Lain where two Veras can be called Verae but in this case the third vera is the plural of verum.
Either way there's now a W begging which depending on whether young Anton's list permits is his but you may have to be supersub if not!
I too have Yule-related tasks which I have procrastinated on too long.

I'm sure my 'verae' is wrong and vindepays will be on my case if he comes by
Given the depredations of Lady G, I have a quick W for the companye...
A W to connect Vaughan Williams, Mathias and Blue Monday cheese.
On second thoughts, not sure about that - doesn't 'vera viginitas' mean 'true virginity' - it's not a plural, I don't think, but a feminine abstract noun...

Reason: Latin afterthoughts...

Most definitely, unless you have to ferry Lords Irving & Falconer too in which case something more substantial like a Humvee might be more in order
Or just an articulated container lorry...

Oh sorry I'll save it for a wainy day well done M'Learned
My apologies! I assumed your Lordship would be hors de combat...

Alas in this post-DHSS world, articulated clerks are now called trainee solicitors...
So - we're going with this, I think... it's very seasonal...
