A Quick Q which links with Paul, Sir Cliff and Cecil.
Paul Mccartney was a member of the Quarry Men; Cecil Sharp became interested in traditional English dance when he saw a group of morris dancers with their concertina player William Kimber at the village of Headington Quarry, just outside of Oxford, at Christmas 1899.

Is it quarry then?
If it were Macca, for consistency wouldn't it have been "Sir Paul" in the question?
Can't make 'quarry' fit with Sir Cliff - whether Richard or Curzon...
"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

Must be Curzon, mustn't it? This is the R3 message board after all...

Even with me setting the clue? - It is Curzon - what a great pianist he was!
Wonderful
He did a lot of playing with Cecil Aronowitz...
Is the Q a Quartet or a Quintet?

You've got the right Cecil. Go for the higher number of players and all you need then is the Paul.
Did they do the Trout with Paul Tortelier?
"...the isle is full of noises,

It could be argued that the answer could be Quartet or Quintet.
Take a few minutes to think - 5 probably enough!
Unfortunately being distracted by work So inconvenient!
Don't really catch your drift in that latest.
Is it sth to do with Paul Hindemith?
"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."
Paul Desmond... on the day of Dave Brubeck's sad demise?
