          Elgar

Previn Slatkin Boult and ... Svetlanov* () all recorded his works ...... oh and quite a few other Englishmen did as well....

What's that you say, Cloughie? Not what's on the card? Could it be that several solutions might fit this puzzle...?

*insane, headlong, brass-dominated recording of the Second Symphony c/w Sea Pictures!

I applaud your imagination in even coming up with that albeit wrong answer, Cali.

Maybe my canvass was rather broad - OK the E is in the titles of works and the Americans are a team.

Flay!! Apologies! I just noticed, you got that before Cloughie. In the hurly-burly of the day, I overlooked it!

Cloughie - is the American team a classic combo like Rodgers & Hammerstein?

Was wondering about that!! Didn't think the 'NO' applied to me! Been too busy watching Leveson debates this evening...

The word Edelweiss occurs to one. Can't think of any Russian connections.... Can't think of much at the moment.

                            Cali out, till tomorrow....

Been there, tried it, can't find any link either.

However cloughie didn't say it was R & H. It could be another duo.
