Am I missing something? Why is she 'Wor Pet' ? Because our north eastern friends use the word 'pet' a lot?

I assume the link must be via one of her songs? Or films.... 'Gay Dog' ?

Is the Nicky male or female?

Is North the compass point or a person's surname?

Are all three connections musical - and are any of them classical?

Just for interest (with all this talk about Geordies), Daniel Craig was in Our Friends in the North.

Flay - It was that series that made me suggest Geordie - there was I believe a Nicky in the series!

Could this be something to do to your (presumed) hero Glenn who was apparently obsessed with Petula?

                          (North gave me an idea)

It is remarkable, to say the least, that a man like Gould, who wore winter clothing even at the height of summer, was so enthusiastic about the cold and inhospitable North. “I have an enormous compulsion to look upon the Polar seas,” he wrote to an acquaintance in 1965. While preparing for his docudrama The Idea of North, he discovered the small town of Wawa some 625 miles by car to the north-west of Toronto, and in the final years of his life he would return there on frequent occasions. But the North was really no more than an idea – the inner, rather than the outer, goal of his flight from the world. “Something really does happen to most people who go into the north – […] they become, in effect, philosophers.”
