No no... mercia's right... That's why you got 2 gold stars for

Walter Damrosh: conducted the première of "American in Paris"
Bruno Walter: conducted the première of Pfizner's "Palestrina"

And mercia gets the last for Walter Weller conducting the première of Beethoven's 10th

X marks the spot. Flay? mercia? Anna?
"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
        Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

            Huh?

I responded to your accurate answer of one element by saying "You are making very good progress!" and highlighting the "Walter". What's teasing about that? If you want a tease, shut your eyes and pass me that feather duster...

EDIT: oh I see, you thought Damrosch was nothing to do with the answer?... Oh well! 'Tis only a game!

(Flay: *mutter mutter* it's not life or death, it's much more important than that....)

Flay us alive with an impossible X/Y/Z/A... (I'll be out. I have an ENORMOUS dinner tonight!! )

What? An ENORMOUS dinner on a school night? Where, and with whom? And, we still haven't heard Flay's account of George V's delights ......

Well, I can do a rather simple (that's me all over) X which will take nanoseconds to solve, as I only have about an hour, max, before I need to go but as I really didn't solve Visions it's not technically my turn.

Yours was the major contribution to the solution.

You DID solve it, you got Massenet.

                              And you're not simple.

                              Just engagingly open

Well, I still think my Massenet opera Herodiade counted because the famous aria from Act III is Vision Fugitive .........
