EDIT - I take it that what I said in #27290 was irrelevant
Not dumb at all. In fact getting pretty close and I think you might know the answer

    Yes, 27290 was irrelevant.

I'd sort of got to the same place in #27294 above... It's not 40 w-w-w-w-winks is it? As in 'sleep' - berceuse in Dolly, Jumbo's lullaby... maybe Brahms's re 'variations'..?
"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
          Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

No, that's not what it says on the card but a good try nonetheless.

EDIT: I wonder where the phrase '40 winks' came from?

Mind you, I had a good nights sleep last night....must have been the vino...or the G&T's while I cooked. Definitely a case of Schlaf der Toten

The answer has been presented on several occasions ....just not in the right language.

                          Well done. Spot on.

All were examples of berceuse. Chopin originally named his Berceuse 'Variations'. And the other two have already been mentioned.

                          You get the 'X'.....heh..heh !
