Rest beckons, in a delightful autumnal Paris - clear skies, soft sunshine today.
Bonne Toussaint! (Not sure if I will have time to make a pilgrimage to visit Chopin, Poulenc and the others at Père Lachaise tomorrow before my early evening Eurostar... We'll see...)"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments

anything to do with these weavers ? I doubt it
on one page wikipedia tells me that Benvenuto Cellini was a silversmith, but on another insists he was a goldsmith
Romance ? is R a composer ? René(s) ?
I shall stop guessingLast edited by mercia; 01-11-12, 03:18.

I wonder if the father of Swedish music is involved as he was in vinteuil's February 2011 question
the weavers were thirteenth century, and they were women.
The French art nouveau work dates from the fourteenth century...
