thanks for the links. Valentine Dyall a name from the past, and Lady Floella. are the old nursery rhymes still PC ? lots of death and violence isn't there?

if I meet any children I shall recommend it.

    shall I continue ?

Yes, death and violence, but all in the best possible taste!

To link groups of rhymes du Prez used a 5 beats to the bar ditty with various combinations of instruments, including crumhorns. I wonder if he was inspired by Pictures at an Exhibition? Do have a listen. All are sung and narrated very clearly.

Yes, very quiet on the Forum generally - only 5 threads showed up when I clicked 'What's New?' just now

Your D for du was an absolute stinker, may I say...!
"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
                  Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

Coming from Caliban, I'd take that as a compliment, Flay

Just don't let it go to your head, mind

Steady now, Caliban - there's quite enough ear-boxing going on elsewhere from our horn-playing colleague without you throwing in your embouchure

Sorry - I still need to pass on the F as I will not be around to service responses until very late.

                              Naughty!

This suggests Mozart: Three German Dances K. 605, A Musical Joke K. 522 and 14 marches. But there's no F in 'em

                                Indeed, no Mozart
