Presumably you would like me to provide the full details....
Under The Greenwood Tree is the 1st of Moeran's Songs of Springtime, the 2nd of Korngold's Four Shakespeare Songs, the 3rd of Gurney's Five Elizabethan Songs and the 5th of Leighton's Five Shakespeare Songs.
        On we go, cloughie!

Not Vaughan but I like your thinking.

                      Tricky one!

My only thought has been in relation to the V that I think of in re: LA which is Ventura Boulevard, up north of Hollywood near Studio City...

And Ray Ventura was a band leader.

But I'm stuck on the Mass part (inc. the US State).
"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
                      Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

And why the 'n? Does this mean "and" or is there more to it, Watson?

Following the sol-fa line, using the scale of C there are masses in D (Mozart - well OK, it is in D minor, and it is a requiem) and A (Schubert) composed in Vienna.

                          I think I'm stretching things

When I put A Mass Ray in LA into google I get pages of Ray LaMontagne, a folk/blues singer who lives in West Mass! Not a lot of help I'm afraid, but I am trying!!
(terribly impressed that mercia can rapidly run through the words of the Latin Mass in his head ......)

You need to be seeking a composer,singer/songwiter/group leader and a singer.
