... ah, cannulas - those vibrant tender perennials that produce bold leaves and showy flowers in shades of red, orange, yellows and pinks. I'm told it is a useful summer bedding plant for both containers and borders, but does well in cool conservatories in summer.

              OH!

I was so discombobulated by the 'cannula insertion' tangent, plus no one seems to have had a crack at mercia's E... I missed it !

I'll delete and save it for later, ta Northo

Talking about nabats, I didn't need an alarm this morning: the cat jumped on me - it's lucky to be alive!

Rubbra'a Eleventh Symphony was dedicated to his wife Colette. Shostakovitch's Eleventh was broadcast last night.

The 4th movement of the Shostakovitch is called 'Tocsin' and has something to do with a magazine called Nabat.

wikipedia reckons Nabat is a translation of Tocsin

Cementing this message is the subtitle for the symphony's final movement, "Nabat" (translated in English as "tocsin" or "alarm" or "the alarm drum")
