I think the answer might be Griselda. Goldoni wrote a libretto to an opera of that name.
Fraid not!

Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."
Are we expected to get a gallopi on here? Or evrn a Baldassare Galuppi ?????
Cali has gone walkabout in The Eternal City ....... Typical!
He's probably in some poncey restaurant !!
go on, Anna - you know you've got it - give us the full Anna's Law!!
And we then look forward to an Anna H
Anna - you are indeed correct! Please do prepare a dish of coleslaw - then Northo can stop digging (nothing to do with Julia Wedgwood or Katharine of Aragon....

I stopped digging before the hole got that deep!
Let's hope that Anna's despair at what happened to her beloved Scarlets last night might have been lessened if, as seems highly likely, she's got the right 'G'. I mean, what's a home defeat to deadly RU rivals?
While Caliban has clearly returned from the Roman walkabout to which Anna referred, the lady herself seems to have copied the title character of Hitchcock's 1938 film.

Sorry, didn't make myself clear - I took Anna's comment to mean that you'd decided to fare due passi and would be temporarily away from your communications base! The weather that's forecast for us back here over the next few days is unlikely to hasten your return!

Ah ha! Yes - read in haste, fully understood at leisure. I see it's ****ing it down back home - here, v pleasant, mild, sunny with the odd cloud providing relief. Pretty ideal.
Ammy - haven't taken any pics yet.... Only have a poor camera phone with me in fact. Will see what I can do...

OMG, OMG, have you all been waiting for me? Well, I went out last night and have just returned home, in partial drowned rat state due to inclement weather. I merely stayed with friends (before any comments about anything) and have merely been lazing around with them, watching the Great British Bake Off, nibbling nibbles, and then Gordon Ramsay's new series compilation on Channel 4/7. Really good, my view of him has changed diametrically. The man can cook. Ho Hum. I think Caliban is failing in his duty to provide us with menus, wines and descriptions of his hedonistic life in The Eternal City...

Whilst I attempt to remedy my undoubted failings, might you rustle up a Ramsay-inspired coleslaw, followed by a showstopping, freshly-baked H ?
