'He [Bruckner] only got old in his later years'.
Depending on what that means, Mahler's 'Abschied' is presumably ruled out on the grounds that the latter was still young when he was middle-aged.

Gosh, no G yet? I am certainly prematurely aged after that F!

I think it should go to Ammy, or Vinny, or even Ferney, or Northo......

              Second thoughts..... Mercia, HELP

                That F was a killer!!

I can chuck in a quick G in others' absence, if it assists

Ecco: per associare Carlo Goldoni, Catherine the Great e Robert Browning
"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
                Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

I think the answer might be Griselda. Goldoni wrote a libretto to an opera of that name.
