      .

I was going by Wiki for the Barber one, which assured me that such a machine was employed. However I just found this:

Gioachino Rossini: Il barbiere di Siviglia ("The Barber of Seville")
I don't imagine that Rossini specified a wind machine in the orchestra for his famous opera buffa, but there is a storm near the end of the work and I have read the occasional review suggesting that some productions employ a wind machine for added verisimilitude.

But I am confident about the third work.

No, I'm sure Resso won't mind. I enjoyed his contributions.

We're all a bit thin on the ground at the moment, aren't we. Can you manage an XYZ or an A?

might have arrived at W sooner if I hadn't got Rossini and Mozart confused in my head

not on the card I fear - though you're right with Beethoven (op 110 is in A flat)
the quintet is a work rather than ensemble

                  Buon giorno by the way

Do you mean the answer is A flat? As in the Holst Wind Quintet in A flat, op. 14?

But I'm lost for anything written in 1480.

sorry, no I was answering Caliban, his suggestion of Beethoven opus 110 is in A flat.

my Beethoven sonata is in E flat and has a nickname

                              Les Adieux (Beethoven piano sonata)
                              Adieu (Stockhausen Wind Quintet)
                              Adieu mes amours (1480 chanson)

                                well snaffled sir
1480 is probably only an approximate date, but I didn't think chanson alone would do
I think you have provided sufficient details
