      Full house - well done!
Twenty-Four Preludes and Fugues, composed by:
      Shostakovitch (1950-51)
      Shchedrin (1964 and 1970)
      Rekhin (1990)
      Slonimsky (1994)
      Kapustin (1997)
All for piano except the Rehkin. Kapustin is the Ukrainian.
      Over to 'U'.

I have a CD of both Shostakovitch piano concertos, plus the second, dating from 1966, of Rodion Shchedrin. It's one of those works to which the word 'angular' might be applied.

I shall skip the V if you don't mind.

That would be a good one for Groan's dictionary, but unfortunately not for AA

Not very well up on salons in Espana but might the Andalusian hairdresser be an opera character?
