          Dodging 'Q', if I may:
A quick New Year's favourite; a slow allegedly rotten state; a quick outdoor sportsman; and participants in a slow 15th century siege.
All examples of 'R', and used by units of another 'R'.

do regiments come in units - I wouldn't know

Denmark as the rotten state ?

are we in the world of military music ?

Regiments can, I think, be regarded as units of Corps.
Denmark is the state in question.
And yes, we are in military musical mode.

Regimental marches by the looks of it.

                Radetzky march (quick)
                Prince of Denmark's March (slow)

The other two... The siege or Rouen? Megiddo? Sportsman has me flummoxed. Which sport?

or perhaps the quick just describes the march

Yes I think it does. The lists are too large, perhaps a clue about the sport please, Northo?

For the purposes of this question, yes. I suspect you have a name in mind.....
Flay has correctly identified 'Denmark' and 'The Radetzky March', which are respectively a slow and a quick regimental march. Anna might help you with the siege, if she's around.
