so I'm looking for a conductor called Mr Hey

apparently there's a wind in France called the Marin but I don't think we call Marin Alsop a light conductor [depends what she had for lunch I suppose]

hmmm - names of winds - mistral, foehn, leveche, sirocco, zephyr ................

I wonder if there's any significance in the fact that in #25581 you invited us to abandon F and go straight to I
the only piece of sheep-related English light music that springs to mind is Shepherd's Hey (or is that Australian?)

No significance - I hurriedly penned the reply and was probably thinking Hey or Hay!

F you got as Fennell. Can you think of a work with Fennell in it? the version I know is by Anthony Collins and the NSOL.

            a-ha !

Balfour Gardiner - Shepherd Fennell Dance
(or Shepherd Fennell's Dance or Shepherd's Fennell Dance or Shepherd's Fennell's Dance)

EDIT - so what are we still looking for please ? another conductor of a light orchestra whose name sounds like Fennell with -hay on the end ?

The conductor of a light orchestra - someone with a sound like hay and somehow linked to fennell. Sorry, I give in.

You got the berger at last!

I guess the last one was even too cryptic by my standards - I was looking for Paul Fenoulhet - which sounds like Fennel hay.
