        So, hastily changing the subject, has anyone got a puzzle or shall we just talk amongst ourselves? I'm looking forward to the Prom tonight, VPO, may have to cut the last 15 mins to catch episode 3 of Parades End of course.

                (BTW I think Parade's End is repeated tomorrow. I shall record it then, allowing a full recording of Bernie and the boys this evening. The Flay family will be building even now to a pitch of feverish anticipation.... )

                  No, the V is not a puzzle, it's dead straightforward, but I hold out no hope (I'm like that, having given up on men and their logical capabilities long ago)

                    I think I said (somewhere) that I rewatched PE Ep1 and then watched Ep2 with pleasure - I'm definitely hooked!

                            I said no-one would get it. It's Violet, based on Violet Pearns, and Algenon Blackwood's Prisoner in Fairyland, which then became Elgar's Starlight Express, then, dimunitive, Josef Locke 'Hear my Song, Violetta' and, of course, Dumas, Violetta, Traviata. <doh> How clever am I? Oh, I am not clever as cabbage looking
