The Englishman is a composer/conductor of his own compositions and the dedicatee was known affectionately as Billy

well that makes me think of W H Billy Reed to whom Elgar dedicated Sospiri - then we have a study by Liszt called Sospiri

apparently the fifth of the 5 Klavierstucke S.192 is called Sospiri

Sospiri/o it is, mecs - well done!

Elgar wrote Sospiri & dedicated it to WH 'Billy' Reed - a very haunting piece, very short, worth investigating if you don't know it

Dirk Bogarde starred in a filmed life of Liszt Song Without End directed by George Cukor, which used Un Sospiro as part of the soundtrack - as suggested by Messrs (and they don't come much messier ) Flay and RM

So well done, I think whichever letter is next, after Caliban's negotiations with Lats on behalf of the alphabet, should apply.

I'm out for most of today, hence my wish to get this tidied up promptly
