Had I not had to rush out, I was about to add a post to the effect that "vinchaud better not catch you lads at that sort of game or there'll be hell to pay" !!

"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
      Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

        Could it be Rachmaninov?

Rachmaninov arranged three pieces from the third violin partita of J. S. Bach

Rhapsody on a theme of Paganini

Not sure about the Beethoven link yet

Welsh Co-Op got stonking offer on Montepulciano d'Abruzzo DOC, 2010 vintage. £3.49 a bottle. Extremely toothsome.

                    Remember to avoid any 2011's.

Looking triffic, Calibano - does it carry a fair whack of the alcohol? I do love Italian reds that have been around a while.

                      How was your pizza, Anna?

The famous Welsh pizza is named pizza dwygyfylchi after the famous tale of the headless horseman of Dwygyfylchi, just south of the A55 at Penmaenmawr

13.5%.... Quite a punch. A moderate glass and a half this afternoon had some effect! I'd currently be having a siesta had I not been going out... Instead I settled for a stiff espresso; and another one coming up before I scuttle off

Clue time? Bach is the odd one out.

Roger Norrington? Period instruments? He did a series of Beethoven Symphonies (sponsored by Logica)...
