              * Greater Black-Backed (although the Lesser Black-Backed is also pretty hefty).

I was well aware that this wasn't the answer on your card - I just didn't want you to get too discouraged at the lack of response. For an unusual BBQ treat while awaiting the next reply, try a herring on a skua - but don't let kitty wake up in case she gets excited and spills some petrel on the flames!

a large one between that and the answer!

The G is part of the name of two works and the writer and performer of the other.

SVP: are the works & composer-performer involved from the classical music world, or are we to cast the net wider?

(PS: no coleslaw earlier that I could see - what's the Britten/Belfast zoo thing about? )
"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
                              Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

works - one classical, one folk - composer-performer non-classical, but sounds beautiful.
