    hear! hear!

I wouldn't have got the Tippett without her dance help
We haven't had a question from Anna for ages, so I agree she should take the E
(+ I've got to go out now)

p.s. I like the idea of Paignton being on the edge of civilization

Presumably you haven't been to Felixstowe! (Only joking, we love it here, but since we lost our direct ferry link to the Continent some years ago we have been even more literally 'at the end of the road - or line'.

I've only just seen this and fully expected hercule to be setting the question. However, here we go.

Edit I have deleted question as a phone call means I am heading off now to a family crisis it seems. So I will hand the baton over to hercule, or, if he desists, his batonee of choice.

If it is the baguette of his choice, please do not let it be one of Greggs.

          Morning all!

Heading West today where the map is disturbingly blank. (Though someone has helpfully pencilled in 'Dragons?')

Will try to keep an eye on things as Wetherspoons allow - great excuse for SWMBO.

As I recall, you can still get across to Harwich? (Or is that summer only?)

Are we questionless at the moment?

DP: There's a foot ferry (maximum 12 passengers) that operates from, I think, Easter to September between Felixstowe, Harwich and Shotley. (Shades of the reportedly dire BBC drama series 'Triangle', which I think linked us with somewhere in Scandinavia and - was it Amsterdam?)
As far as AA goes, we are indeed questionless. I seem to recall that hercule answered the third part of my 'D' question - perhaps he might like to set 'E'.

There was an E but Anna had to delete and deal with family issues (hope all's well Anna *lets out little cloud of sympathetic steam* )

                  hercule.....???

What E connects (among others, or should that be amongst)

                      - a pupil of a York organist
                      - a Prague piano teacher
                      - Ferenc trying some emmental

I wonder if this E has appeared before
I wonder if that was a clue

First thought: Eclogue.. I noticed on Saturday (BAL) that one of the Liszt "Swiss" pieces is called Eclogue, which reminded me of Finzi - but he was the pupil of a Harrogate organist (Ernest Farrar) not a York one...

                        So I guess that's wrong...

                            AH! Bairstow...

And google gives Václav Jan Křtitel Tomášek as a composer of "Eclogues"

                            I guess that's it

Sorry that was a bit brisk, hercule! The BAL connection, plus that fact that Finzi's one of my favourites, made this a happy conjunction for me.

Got to get to work now so will ponder upon an F and hope to deliver during the morning.
