      Salome.

562 Salome is a minor planet
Lots of paintings inc. two by Titian
But what's the ruddy TV series??!?!

Plus dancing, veils etc etc. But what was the straw thing about?
"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
      Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

As Titian was mixing rose madder
His model she posed on a ladder
        The model's position
        Suggested coition
So he went up the ladder and 'ad her.

            Well done, Caliban.

There is an asteroid named after Salome

The TV series is Supernatural and Salome is vampire

            Titian and others painted Salome.

There are so many other references to Salome but if I'd given opera then it would have been over in less time than it takes Mr Bolt to run 300 feet or so.

Straws was a poor soundslike for Strauss....sorry.

            Time for T

Hang on, hang on, can we get the 4th official on this one: you said the series was named after the character:

And I thought about Supernatural due to the 'other-worldly' clue - but I happen to know (as - ahem... excuse name-drop - a friend of mine is actually IN it) that it's just been recommissioned for its EIGHTH season...

Been wronged eh Cali - actually he could have had more music in the clues, its a tragedy - Florent Schmitt for example - must have a listen to that now - not heard it for a month or so.

I agree with that, if you'd gone down the Florent Schmitt etc route, cloughie et al. would have been on it faster than ferrets up a drainpipe!

I might well have done, if I'd heard of Florent Schmitt! Apologies for the fifth series confusion....note to self..double check web references.
