"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
          Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

The "phrase" I can whistle all the airs from that infernal nonsense "Pinafore" appears in Major General Stanley's patter song in The Pyrex of Penzance, NOTT ... err, I mean ... NOT HMS Pinafore!

(Honestly, the MISTAKES you read on this Thread!)
Er...I did attempt to clarify by explaining that the reference to Pinafore occurred in a different G&S opera - something which I had not made clear at first. The 'clarification' is quoted in #23503, but the original seems to have vanished.
Mea culpa - sed non maxissima?

I thought Lord Coe had banned Ferney Huffing (together with Ambush Marketing).

... yes, pure bluster: trying to detract from the Julian/Jonathan Nott-up earlier!

Far from Ferney Huffing being banned, it's actually one of the Events! (Being held in Salford, I'm in the GB 200 metre Huff relay. Applying Linseed Oil to my ferney as I write.)

Now there's an image to set the scene for Beethoven #2!

A few more huffs and puffs and you'll bring the house down!

How are you getting on with Dérive 2? What a lot of notes!

As far as I'm concerned, after a busy day, I'm finding it as challenging to get into as your I (despite all the In/Indeed clueage)...

Indeed? Oh yes, it wasn't exactly the clue, it was the highlighted word that I was indicating. However if I had that little promised cwtch, perhaps the moments would lead in to a deed...
