Your Diversion has kept me on my toes.

    Divertimento:

Paul Wranitzky - Trois Divertissemens pour Deux Violons, Viole, Violoncelle, Flute/Hautbois, deux Cors & Basse - apparently "amplifications" of six of Haydn's best-known string quartets, opp. 71 and 74.

Rodrigo -Concierto como un divertimento (commissioned by Julian LW)

Matti Rautio - Divertimento for cello and orchestra (presumably written for his cellist brother Erkki Rautio who has recorded it)

Wow... this game is getting tough!!

      Awesome solving, Mr F
"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
      Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

Did you hear about the bloke who sent ten puns to his friends, hoping that at least one of the puns would make them laugh? No pun in ten did.

Now for a Pinteresque joke (I just finished listening to Betrayed while walking the mutts this morning). A bear walked into a bar and said: "I'll have a beer.... and some peanuts." The barman said, "Why the big pause?"

A man walked into a bar holding an alligator. He asked the bartender, "Do you serve lawyers here?" The bartender said, "Yes, we do!" "Good," replied the man. "Give me a beer, and I'll have a lawyer for my alligator."

Or the woman who went into a bar and ordered for a "double entendre". The barman gave her one.

Where's Subby to save us from all this?

                                Divertimento:

Paul Wranitzky - Trois Divertissemens pour Deux Violons, Viole, Violoncelle, Flute/Hautbois, deux Cors & Basse - apparently "amplifications" of six of Haydn's best-known string quartets, opp. 71 and 74.

Two out of three. Look for a Haydn piece arranged as a Divertimento for cello and orchestra (to match the other two).
