Yes, Arthur Somervell and Hugh Stevenson Roberton. And yes, there's a Shropshire connection, although that's not the actual answer. The names are listed in order of publication of the works in question.

Actually, it was I (Northender, the non-Northerner ), and it was 'only just in double digits' because the next one was Number 100.
The earliest of these 5 settings dates from shortly after a pretty unsuccessful war and the latest from the year which saw the start of a much greater conflict.

I shall now leave matters in abeyance until the Czechs, Portuguese, Venezuelans and Scots have all finished. If anybody would like another clue, I'll be happy to oblige after 2230 hours.

'fraid I still don't know who Peel and Johnson are, and can't find any lists of works by Somervell or Roberton [apart from Springtime by Somervell]
is Hamilton Harty the other person ? I see both Spring and Summer featuring in his output.
