Not Russia. (I suppose you could run through a list of countries until I said 'yes', but I think it would be more fun to concentrate on the clues ).
He was highly honoured in his own country.
The three pieces are, respectively, an orchestral rondo, incidental music to a play, and an overture.
Tiny fairies can of course also be described as little people.
Bed beckons for yours truly. (That's not a clue, more of a public service announcement).
    G'night all!

            Well, here are some clues:
            (a) Lance Armstrong (for example)
            (b) A parable
            (c) A tiny fairy's livelihood.

oh well, I have Finnish composer Unno Klami 1900-1961
1946 Rondo for orchestra - The Cyclist
Incidental music to The Prodigal Son by Marin Drzic 1945
?? overture The Cobbler on the Heath ??

can anyone find a more suitable Klami overture involving a "tiny fairy's livelihood" ?

Northender said yesterday he was without a phone and a very intermittent internet service, so I suspect that's the reason for his absence? And I can't find any overture except the Cobbler, probably best to assume mercia is correct and crack on with the next letter?
