Yes - Dufay is on the card.

The composer also of Sept Haiku, which involves syllables?

so sorry for the delay - my computer's on a horrible go-slow
                      Harawi it is
I shall be back with more information shortly ..............

EDIT - Harawi, first part of Tristan Trilogy [according to wikipedia], second part being the Turangalila Symphony, third part the Cinq Rechants
third and eighth movements translate as mountains and syllables respectively

an I for an I from subs. methinks

Nicely done, scb - I'm looking forward to the explanation, I have no idea of the connections between Harawi and the elements of the question, esp Tristan!

Sorry about the computer. Mine was on a go slow at the weekend. I had to back everything up to an external hard drive, erase the computer hard drive totally, and reinstall all the programmes then do all the updates. It all took about 8 hours. But it's now good as new.

Apart from the ailing computer, are you feeling better today?

                          It is all in Wikipedia:

Harawi is the first part of Messiaen's "Tristan Trilogy". It includes movements with titles "Montagnes" and "Syllabes".
