        Not continuing the 'rondo' theme, are you, by referring to my 'Arnold' of less than 24 hours ago?

            Have to go off-line for about an hour.
            Three composers involved, one of them a student of Milton Babbitt.

              Serialism and synthesiser are my guesses.

                Neither.

                You should be able to do this on your own - if not, a little priest might help you

                        as long as I don't have to set a question

                        Sweeney Todd: Demon Barber etc. - Sondheim [I did wonder earlier if sond-heim was Scandinavian for south something]

                        anyway I really am going now

                          That's the "Stephen" element; any takers for the other two?

                            Again I'd thought of Sondheim but the spelling of his first name was wrong, Harry South - did he write the Theme for the Sweeney which makes me think there must be an Arnold who wrote someting about the demon butcher.

                            Malcolm Arnold Sweeney Todd Suite!

                              Thanks all the same, but I should be able to cope unaided.

                                From an entire ballet!

                                So, coleslaw:

                                Sweeney;
                                S Todds by Stefan Sondheim (pupil of Babbitt) and Malcolm Arnold
