I've found this very testing! Above are the original elements of the puzzles merged with Northender's subsequent clues.

Now...

Dealing with the element in my comfort zone: Military suggests Haydn... but that's No 100.... and the only one "only just in double digits" in E-flat major is No 11... which doesn't have a nickname, starting with N or anything else.

(I'm thinking aloud at the moment, you understand! )

Maybe the Haydn link is a red herring. Shostakovich's 11 is pretty military... but is in G minor...

More pondering required...
