I was looking for establishments in Glasshouse Street, of which Nandos is one!! But, Veeraswamys is just around the corner from there and would be more Cali's style?
http://www.veeraswamy.com/ or, even better their sister restaurant but it doesn't fit with Glass http://www.amaya.biz/index.html

... ninety minutes? And he calls that lunch!

Surely two hours and a half minimum for it to count as 'lunch'?

We live in straitened times, mon cher vindebordeaux

I had not heard of the Glasshouse, although had heard of its sibling Chez Bruce. I've not ventured to any of the three in that 'group' alas, though noone has anything but praise for them.

Where are we with my G?

                    Mercia got Gandhi
Ammy worked out Philip Glass (the compound) and Anna got the Rotterdam connection - both leading to Gandhi as PG's opera Satyagraha was based on his life

So what about Ravi Shankar? Come along folks!

Oh - so the answer is Gandhi? I thought the answer was Glass, hence my attempt to find a restaurant in Glasshouse Street. <doh><feel stupid emoticon> So my final guess at collaboration between Glass and Shankar is another example of Not Paying Attention at The Back ....
Edit: Beefy, can you resize that pie and mash, it's making me feel queasy

I suggest that either the person who deciphers the connection, or the person who sets it in the first place, explains the solution and the meaning of the clues at the conclusion. This would prevent this sort of confusion. You could churlishly refer to it as 'beefy's rule'.

Edit. Is it the liquor Anna? A lot of people don't like the liquor.
