As we seem to be able to talk amongst ourselves, tonight, following on from the cod v pollock debate is Smithfields Market, and I defy anyone watching who is wavering about becoming a vegetarian not to take the fruit and nut route. I have salmon again, with samphire. OMG, samphire was once the poor mans asparagus, now the on-dit is that it is your foraged weed of choice!

I have access to Grove Music Online through my work as an Open University tutor. Access should be widely available through public libraries.

Samphire is really great, not only with fish but have you tried it with roast lamb, particularly if the lamb has grazed on salt-marshes.

Ah. cloughie, now you are talking, tender, pink, lamb tasting of herbs and salt ..... almost as good as a Cornish Pasty!! I used to go to St. Just regularly, one of the pasties from the bakers would sustain me a whole day as I tramped along the cliffs (no sniggering at the back) but can you get a decent one outside of Cornwall? I fear not, and as for Ginsters - words fail, that is no more a Cornish Pasty than I am a Pisky! Edit: And Greggs and even Waitrose hand-crimped ..... actually words fail me because their pasties wouldn't know a hand-crimped if it grabbed them unexpectedly.
