I was just observing that in the life of this thread we have had the solution of 'Nielsen' for an 'N' question twice, and likewise 'Venice' for 'V' twice. (Not an admonishment, I hasten to add.)

my Jude the Obscure clue is to do with his surname, which will lead you to my Buckinghamshire village (don't forget the bottom), which will lead you to (probably) it's most famous inhabitant and her musical Venice link
