YES! Yes and yes... and ... your searches will be aided by using the French 'ménéstral'

"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
    Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

And yes sir, but do explain!

Up to you and mercia about the D... You're both there

no definitely your call, cloughie, I was nowhere near that Glazunov - your French is obviously much better than mine

I shall now acquaint myself with the Chant du Menestrel (or Menestral) opus 71

I guess I better Anna Slaw this

Kol Nidre - or "All Vows" - Max Bruch, completed in Liverpool (acc. wiki)
Schelomo - Rhapsodie Hebraique - cello concerto by Ernest Bloch , the cello representing the voice of King Solomon (is Schelomo Hebrew for Solomon ? )
Chant du Menestrel (or menestral) - opus 71 - Alexander Glazunov - either cello/piano or orchestral arrangement

Worth it. It's nice. Great coupling with DSCH's wonderful funky 2nd Cello Conc. on this http://www.amazon.co.uk/Shostakovich.../dp/B00000E4QE (I'd buy 'used' - look at those 'new' prices )

I had it on cassette very early in my 'music career'... I see they've shoved some Tchaikovsky with it on the CD release

well I have a very tedious D, I'm sure cloughie's is more interesting

                a D obscurely connecting

                - 4 taxi horns used orchestrally
                - Liszt's second symphonic poem
                - Kodachrome

Yes odd isn't it. The original LP and cassette release which I had was just a pic of Seiji and Mstislav doing their thing: http://www.amazon.com/Shostakovich-G.../dp/B0036WB6DO

probably better marketing other people's products than my own
