What M was a music magazine, a record label, imitated by Beethoven, and used by Ligeti?

            Well, could it be Metronome?

Edit: I do hope it's not as I am taking this stinking cold to bed now but I did thought I should show willing and continue to join in.

              Well done.

Do you want to fill in the details?

Magazine, record label, obvious. Ligeti's 100 Metronomes and Beethoven's mate Johann Maelzel invented, I think, the metronome, which Beethoven, being a bit deaf, used a fair bit in his markings.

I was thinking more specifically of the second movement of Beethoven's 8th Symphony, which is commonly held to be imitating the ticking of the metronome.

Over to you for an N.

Could I hand the baton back to you subcontrabass? To be honest, this bug/cold means I really have to go to bed now and cannot stay up for any longer. You do set a very good puzzle as well (grovel emoticon) and otherwise, all will have to wait until tomorrow for something to ponder about.

                      That is against the rules

I am sure we can all wait until tomorrow.

It's been done before! Rubra handed over to Caliban.

OK, back again tomorrow if you insist but still willing for anyone to jump in here. Rules are meant to be broken.

A perfectly very easy straightforward one.

N has been known to draw on Purcell, you may connect him with the piano although he is multi-faceted and minimalism is his word.

Certainly is hercule! Can you fill in the clue for piano and minimalism?

Pretty awful, thanks for asking. I'll be offline for a bit so will look at your O in a while.
