That's about the time the supermarkets start discounting their paella, I reckon Anna
You watch your step
"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."
That's not the U but you've almost got the right Alice...

Edited on the grounds of good taste and the reputation of this MB.
Cloughie frustrated you!
The U connects to Alice and the other musical pieces. When Anna said 'Underland', as I said, the U was the wrong letter, but try doubling it and you might be on to something as far as Alice is concerned...
While you are busy in the kitchen, I am heading out in about 45 mns for curry and Cobra beer... so this could be some time in the solving I shouldn't wonder (but maybe you should )

is the fanfare a stand-alone piece or something like the one before Dukas's La Peri?
there's an Australian opera called Through the Looking Glass with a libretto by a U
I think chimerical just means fantastic or fanciful doesn't it ?

Oh, I never said Underland!! Blame cloughie! He did!! Mercs may have got it ..... But a double U means a W, so, something to do with White Rabbit? But by whom? There is a brilliant one by Jefferson Airplane, Grace Slick, which has nothing to do with anything.

Oh sorry, lost track... Yes, W... But not White Rabbit....
....ah mercia's got it: Wonderland! yes... But mercia's retreated: c'mon Anna - South Korean 'Alice in Wonderland'.. you're there in two shakes of a Welsh lamb's whatsit!

a-ha, there is also an opera by a South Korean, called Alice in Wonderland, but I think I may hand over to someone else now
No, don't do that, we are all adrift, at sea, clinging to the wreckage, in fact, I feel like the wreck of the hesperus, just look at my hair! Carry on mercs.

Reason: still not sure if I've spelt it right
