Yep, if it's the weekend it's ferney at the cooker - an hour's preparation then an hour in the oven. Then I make the dinner!

I'm sure no-one wants to leap in with an S, waiting for yours will fuel the anticipation ......
I liked cali's Q: I'd heard some of Bruno's Music, but I still think of "cascading strings" whenever I see "Mantovani"!

Openings to memorable balls and an oratorio after a Hunt. Which S brew is this?

The great benefit of Mercia's Excuse-Me is that mercia can leap on the solution without fearing he'll have to set a puzzle, as the next letter is already spoken for!

Yup J-GQ lived in those three countries when young, premièred Bruno Mantovani's Cello Concerto in 2005, and plays a Goffredo Cappa cello from 1696.

Don't think we've had Queyras before, have we?
Oh no? And Mr Mantovani too.

I've had a rather belated and unannounced siesta

Yes I was thinking "Storm" à la Berlioz, then dropped off...

Will have to let the subconscious work on this as coffee and a trip across The Bridge are in order now
"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
                        Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

wikipedia tells me that Sullivan wrote an oratorio inspired by William Holman Hunt The Light of the World
and there's an Overture di Ballo

however, that's me done for today
