I had Paul in mind for two of the clues, not the other.

Can you progress a little further?

      Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

Twas a guess! I confess all I know is that Britten wrote the music to his early opera Paul Bunyan!

Who might Walt be? How many famous ones are there?!?
And if I told you that my comment "can you progress a little further?" was relevant to Ralph?

Ammy you got so close that I feel I should give you clearance to proceed with a C.

As you said the B is Bunyan

Ralph Vaughan Williams - Pilgrim's Progress (based on John Bunyan)
Benjamin Britten's opera and Walt Disney's 1958 animated film based on the story of lumberjack Paul Bunyan

                    C you soon?!

                      Damned civil of ya, Fawlty!

What C started on the Croatian coast and ended in Rome traffic, leaving 32 on 9

An attempt to make something fairly straightforward rather more complex - perhaps?

I think this should have something to do with Corelli but not sure what!

32 on 9 anything to do with Goldberg or Beethoven or even compass points?
