I have missed your time limit; however I have invented a pretext to use someone's ipad (very very cool, latest version... still not tempted ) to get online en soirée to say I think it's Ormandy - first recordings/performances of performing versions of Mahler 10 and Tchaikovsky 7, and I just googled to find that Eugene Ormandy began life in Hungary as Jenő Blau - a factoid which I am delighted to upload on to the Caliban hard drive for the first time. What an odd name to change to... I'd always assumed his name was an anglicisation of something Hungarian similar to Eugene Ormandy - not something totally different!!

Je me coucherai moins bête - as so often after a brisk AA session

EDIT: I just realised that Jenő is probably a variant of Eugene... Yevgeny... etc (the Yevgeny I know is called 'diminutively' Jenia...). I like it when links like that become apparent....
