Oblique..sorry! TiVO was one of the very first PVR's (hard disk recorder for TV). We rarely watch 'live' TV preferring to record onto TiVo. We worked out that in the average nominal 1 hour slot, we saved twenty minutes ..what with the trailers, the overlong opening credits reprising what went on in earlier episodes, the commercials, the reprise of what has just happened (in the bit before the commercial break), etc.

Where TiVO scored was in it's exceptionally good user interface and it's flawless ability to reliably record what you asked it to. Too many of the modern machines are rushed out to market with barely a nod towards testing of functionality.

Two composers are English. The third French. The title of one of the pieces of work (the one about C) is also, as I have just discovered, the title of a musical.

EDIT: Mea culpa...one of the English composers was actually born in Ireland but spent most of his life in England.

Yes, that's what I thought... only thing I'm getting now is Children, but that doesn't seem to fit with looking up or suffragettes
