... did all his lovers have a surname beginning with B, or was he just working his way through the alphabet?

Idle curiosity: nothing to do with the puzzle. A track on previously mentioned album.

I don't know what's wrong with me today: I'm being remarkably slow!

            It's gone very quiet!

A resumé, perhaps? Vinty identified the Serge Gainsbourg album Bonnie & Clyde and alluded to the relevant track therefrom.
mercs identified Huddersfield composer Gordon Dyson's Chanson d'Apres-Midi

... so we need a similarly-titled piece by Turnage, which will get us to the B in question.

Now, I'm off to bake some bread. Now; what shall I use? Strong white? Self-raising? Wholemeal? Oh No! They've all gone off!

              Gosh, where is everybody?

Turnage - Two Baudelaire Songs: 1. Harmonie du soir; 2. L'invitation au Voyage
Baudelaire - 11th track on "Bonnie and Clyde," a collaboration album by Serge Gainsbourg and Brigitte Bardot.
Charles Baudelaire wrote the words to Chanson d'Après-midi http://www.englishtenor.co.uk/Dyson.htm

How about a C from Vinny? Cheers!

                    C'est vraiment!
Gordon Dyson: Chanson d'Apres-midi (words by our Charlie)
Mark Anthony Turnage: Harmonie du soir (from Two Baudelaire Songs)
Serge Gainsbourg's 1968 Album Bonnie & Clyde, the penultimate track of which is called Baudelaire in honour of the author of Les Fleurs du Mal, or, in English, The Flours've Gone Off.

I hope people do want to play still. I suspect Callibs is jet-lagged. Subby is lurking, Norfy is grumpy. It doesn't leave too many oldies.

High time we had some new blood. Is there anybody out there....??? This isn't a closed shop - everyone can associate here.

But I've been hogging things recently. Perhaps Vinny could Collaborate as he really did crack the last one?
