Incidentally I would never think of jumping in on someone else's question unless the setter had indicated he or she was unable (or unwilling ) to take the next letter. I suspect the same applies to everyone: I assume that the setter is working on their question or trying to find time to do so, and that it would be very rude to trample on that and quite possibly waste their time and effort, unless the contrary is stated

Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
      Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

Cal - I was not suggesting you would. What I have seen happen after a suitable time-lapse is a move to keep things going and I have no problem with this.

Actually a recliner! ...and if it's another clue you're after EC is a real person, whereas EP is a character in a 60s television series.

Glad I raised a smile Caliban

But, circumstances dictate will not be able to contribute to the discussion as to settees v sofas (I call my moth eaten Edwardian two seater a sofa, I think the on-dit is that a settee is terribly sixties and a 'couch' went out with the ark and recliners are really not to be trusted to catapault you into space) and I have still no idea of the answer.

So EC is a male! We are getting slightly warmer (about minus 272 degrees C).

With due observance of thy godlike seat, Great Cloughie, take thy feet off that pouffe and gizza clue. Is it musical, perchance?
