Flay got Busch but not Kreisler I think

Well, mercia and Flay sorted it out between them. Perhaps they'd like to toss a methaporical coin or enter into meaningful negotiations.
Just to recap: Four musical 'Fritzes', 2 of whom (Kreisler and Reiner) died in New York, and one each in London (Busch) and Heidelberg (Wunderlich).

Fritz Stiedry gave the first performance of Schoenberg's Second Chamber Symphony*. His wife, Erica, is the sprechstimme on the composer's own recording of Pierrot Lunaire.

EDIT: Not on his own, you understand.

I had to Wiki this: Zurich, 1968. He was also in charge of the Leningrad Phil before Mravinsky and prepared the aborted premiere of Shostakovich's Fourth Symphony.

Having been away plus distracted by other matters for a while, reading back on this thread is, somehow, like being in a parallel dimension whereby I am the only sane one and the lunatics are running the asylum I'm just surprised there are not more references to Corrie!

Splendid newsreader - and very good on The News Quiz - but I'm not sure what Ms Caulfield has to do with AA?

This is what I mean, you all lead a parallel existence, there is no-one called Corrie Caulfield - there is a Corrie Corfield who, according to wiki "Corfield has persuaded broadcasters connected with Radio 4 to don the 'slanket of con', a garment purportedly worn by continuity announcers in the air-conditioned chill of studio 40B as they read the late night shipping bulletin, and has photographed the wearers in various comic poses"

Oh Dear, is Corrie on tonight, can I get some light relief and relax in the real world?

No idea mercia. That's just what wiki says, it may mean something to someone in another parallel universe or on another planet orbting in outer space. I am just confused, but happily so, whilst we wait for Flay and his Gorgeous, Gigantic G However, I may not be around for the Grand Unveiling of it ....

                              I guess "con" is continuity
