    One down, two to go.

According to Grove, Charles Wood was bandmaster of the Cambridge Volunteers from 1889 to 1897.

I thought the word 'respected' might have been intended ironically The R3 programming this morning sent me to a bad place... Getting out and in the sunshine has cheered me up but I see I've missed the C-train

Nothing ironic intended. I was merely referring to the widespread opinion that things have been going downhill since then.

You are not too late to contribute an offering to the C list. We only seem to have one solved clue and no link so far.

No. Only just pre-R3 (actually overlapped with it)

Wasn't that Saint William of the Bells? (1959-72)

(And, even if not, thank you for allowing me this opportunity of mentioning Clark and Glock in such proximity!)

Stumped here - as Johnny-come-lately, is 'Charles' not the link?

Because there seem to be no Charleses....

I guess there will have to be some intense googling by others, as I have a meeting in 5 minutes... Done no preparation!! Damn AA and it's addictive puzzles!!!!

So far, the only common C I can get is C-C-Cambridge...

(Meeting delayed! They're here now! Still no preparation )

Sadie was not, I think, an Organ Scholar, but all three studied at Caius. As you got two of the three clues and the link I think you should move the key on to D.
