That seems to have all three parts in place: the instrument, the singer, and Má Vlast.

Who is going to do U? Mercia? Norfolk Born? fhg? Anyone?

I think you got the singer and the Smetana didn't you - but you offered the U to ferney: he's back I think, and I relieved him of his S...
"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
                  Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

We can't persuade you to make a U turn then?

I'm not sure if I like the ability to bequeath a letter to someone else... A liking for simplicity and purity (you know me! ) means it slightly offends my sensibilities, but at the same time if 'proxy' question-setting keeps things going if the 'should-be' setter is unavoidably detained elsewhere, then it's a good thing.

I imagine Rubbers might have something to say on the subject, but he seems to have faded out again, more's the pity. He waxes and wanes like the moon, old Rubbers

Priority for the next question should, I think, go either to mercia, who got Tabor (the instrument) and Smetana (but who currently seems to be logged out), or to fhg (who "owes" us a question from some time back).

All seems very quiet on this Odyssey.
