        1967 was the first year I went to the Proms. My first one was "The Trojans at Carthage" by Berlioz with Colin Davis conducting. Call it an addiction but I have been every year since except 2006 when illness prevented me. I have only twice sat in the seats.

          Without wishing to sound patronising, I really admire that Chris. There are several annual events that I have attended on many occasions, one or two in double figures. However much I have loved them, I have never come close to that tremendous record. In this age of little commitment from employment through housing to relationships, there is a lot that many could learn from your example. Some people these days find it hard to enjoy anything longer than a tweet on twitter. That is a big part of "our" problem.
